With the launch of Operation “Am K’Lavi – Rising Lion” and the declaration of a state of emergency on the home front, Magen David Adom (MDA) has raised its alert level to the maximum.

Since the early morning hours, all 35,000 of the organisation’s staff and volunteers have been mobilised to provide a rapid and effective medical response to any need.
All MDA ambulances and Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICUs) are fully staffed, and the 101 emergency dispatch centres are operating from protected spaces to continue delivering life-saving services under the threat of rocket fire. In addition, MDA’s blood services reserve unit has been activated and additional medical personnel have been recruited.
Throughout the year, MDA conducts complex drills simulating various emergency scenarios, and its teams are prepared to respond quickly and professionally in any situation.
MDA uses advanced technologies to identify and assist citizens in distress, and through these systems maintains close cooperation with all security and emergency agencies – the IDF, Israel Police, Home Front Command, and others. MDA EMTs and paramedics provide callers with medical guidance until teams arrive at the scene.
MDA’s blood services are operating under an intensified emergency protocol to ensure sufficient supply for both the healthcare system and the IDF. MDA calls on the public to respond and donate blood, especially individuals with blood type O. A list of donation locations is published and regularly updated on MDA’s website https://www.mdais.org/blood-donation .
If needed, blood drives will be held in residential buildings, with mobile units visiting neighbourhoods across the country, allowing residents to donate blood close to home.
Additionally, MDA’s Human Milk Bank is also continuing to operate under emergency procedures.
MDA Director-General Eli Bin said: “Thousands of MDA volunteers and staff immediately stepped up – driven by the spirit of volunteerism and a deep commitment to our mission. Our emergency response system is fully prepared for any scenario, and we are working in close coordination with all security and emergency forces. This close cooperation is critical to saving lives. We ask the public to strictly follow Home Front Command instructions – this is essential for personal and public safety, and we are here to assist with any medical need through MDA’s 101 emergency dispatch number.”
