Last week, schools across Australia came alive with colour, music and energy as students marked Yom Haatzmaut, celebrating Israel’s Independence Day with real enthusiasm.
Classrooms and halls turned into hubs of activity, with Israeli dancing, food tastings, flag displays and creative performances bringing the story of Israel to life.
Students of all ages took part, building a strong sense of connection and pride, while teachers used the moment to share Israel’s history, culture and achievements in a way that felt engaging and meaningful. It was a vibrant reminder of the deep ties between young Australian Jews and Israel, and the role schools play in keeping that connection strong.
