On the Other Hand

Israir has hired three new female pilots, bringing the total number of women pilots at the airline to seven – around 10% of its operational pilot workforce – as the company continues to expand both its team and fleet.

The new appointments mark a milestone for the carrier, which said that only 15 candidates were selected from a pool of 144 applicants, including the three newly recruited women. According to Israir, this places the airline among those with the highest levels of female pilot representation in Israel’s aviation sector and ahead of many airlines worldwide.

The airline said it will continue investing in the recruitment and training of flight crews, emphasising that professional excellence, diversity, and equal opportunity remain central to its long-term growth strategy.
