On the other hand
Two “good news” items that you might have missed this past week:
- *Helping The North:* Microsoft’s Israeli branch has donated tablets, computers, Office 365 licenses, and tens of thousands of shekels of gift cards to evacuees from Kiryat Shmona.
- Nechama Spiegel, a religious pilot from Beit Shemesh who has been flying with El Al since 2017, has been promoted from First Officer to Captain, making her the first-in-command on the aircraft.
* Mary, a Jewish girl from Brooklyn, New York, founded an organization that supplies tefillin to IDF soldiers who are non-religious or cannot afford them but wish to wrap daily.
Her mission began after October 7th when, while working on another project for IDF soldiers, a unit rabbi reached out to inquire about tefillin for a non-religious soldier and Nova survivor.
Since then, Mary has shifted her focus and has donated 114 pairs of tefillin—each costing over $1,000—to inspired and deserving IDF soldiers.
NO MORE BLOOD DONORS
An Israeli start-up company is developing laboratory-produced blood cells that will eliminate the need for human blood donors.
This major project will revolutionize and alleviate the worldwide severe shortage of blood for transfusions and will help to save countless lives. This is another contribution by Israel’s innovators in helping humanity.
