CBDChabad Sydney has expanded its weekly Lunch & Learn network across the Sydney CBD, following a successful trial session at Tower 2, Westpac HQ, Barangaroo.

The new Thursday gathering will serve Jewish professionals and community members working in the western CBD, adding Barangaroo to CBDChabad’s existing weekly programs in Surry Hills, Chifley Square and the Central and Hyde Park precinct.

The expansion means CBDChabad now runs Lunch & Learn sessions across four CBD districts: Surry Hills on Mondays, Chifley Square and the financial district on Tuesdays, Central and Hyde Park on Wednesdays, and Barangaroo on Thursdays.

Rabbi Danny Yaffe, director of CBDChabad Sydney, said the program was designed to make Jewish learning and community connection accessible during the working week.

“Wherever you work or live in and around Sydney’s CBD, there is now a regular opportunity within walking distance to connect with others, engage in meaningful learning and strengthen community,” Rabbi Yaffe said.

The Barangaroo trial brought together professionals and community members from across the precinct for an hour of learning, networking and connection.

CBDChabad thanked Kelly Benson and Westpac for helping facilitate the trial and support the establishment of a new community presence in Barangaroo.

Rabbi Yaffe said the expansion came at a time when many people were looking for practical ways to strengthen connection and resilience.

“In light of everything our community has experienced in recent years, our response is not withdrawal but engagement. Not isolation, but connection. Not fear, but community,” he said.

Weekly Lunch & Learn sessions are open to local residents, Jewish professionals and members of the wider Australian community throughout the Sydney CBD and surrounding areas.
