Women unite in song for an evening of healing

More than 80 women recently came together at St Kilda Shul in Melbourne for From Voice to Song: An Evening of Harmony, Healing and Song.

The event focused on the healing power of music, connection and community.

It was an initiative of the National Council of Jewish Women Australia, in collaboration with NCJWA Victoria, WIZO Victoria, Emunah Victoria, UIA Women’s Division and Unchain My Heart.

Participants learnt and performed Latzet Medikaon, a song of resilience that has inspired many since October 7.

One participant described the evening as joyful and uplifting.

“Thank you to everyone involved. It was such a joyful, uplifting evening and a wonderful reminder of the power of singing together. I hope this is the first of many,” she said.

Another participant said the gathering gave members of the community a chance to pause and reconnect.

“What a wonderful initiative. It was exactly what our community needed, a chance to pause, connect and leave feeling a little lighter. Congratulations to everyone who made it happen,” she said.
