Two Australian high school students have had the experience of a lifetime after competing in the International Bible Quiz live on Israeli TV on Yom Ha’atzmaut, and meeting Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Chaim Ber Hirschowitz and Yehuda Eisenberg, both from Kesser Torah College in NSW, are currently in Israel after winning and coming runner up respectively in the Australian Bible Quiz run by the Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA) last November. After excelling in a written test which narrowed the pool down from 70 participants to just 16, the pair well and truly earned their place on centre stage.

Executive Director of the ZFA, Ginette Searle said, “we were incredibly excited when we heard that the two teens had made it all the way to the finals, but the cherry on top was actually seeing them up on stage, the Aussie flags behind them on the screen. They have certainly done their families, community and schools proud.”

The ZFA is now gearing up for the next National Bible Quiz and students are in full-swing studying for their chance to compete in next year’s International competition.
