Rabbi Chaim Herzog has made a personal visit to Dame Elisabeth Murdoch as she approaches her 101st birthday.
The 30-yr-old Director of Chabad Melbourne met the matriarch of the Murdoch family last year at the funeral of cardboard king Richard Pratt.
Herzog told J-Wire: “I thought it would be nice to spend some time with her and give her birthday greetings personally on behalf of Chabad. I spent two hours with her during which she gave me a tour of her famous gardens and talked about her dream that people could live in harmony together…and she was quick to let me know that her son had many Jewish friends.”
The mother of the head of News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch, lives in Langwarrin, 45km from Melbourne and will turn 101 on February 6.
