Released hostage Eli Sharabi met Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Canberra yesterday.

In Australia, as the headline speaker for the JNF major functions in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, Sharabi described to Richard Marles and Penny Wong the horrific invasion on October 7 and his personal terrifying experiences as a hostage.

He advocated for the release of the remaining hostages, including the remains of his own brother Yossi, kidnapped and murdered by Hamas. He was accompanied bu his brother Sharon in Melbourne.
Sharabi also discussed the rise of antisemitism in Australia and the need to do more to secure the Jewish community.
Sharabi also addressed parliamentary friends of Israel, repeating what happened to him in captivity.
Sharabi was released by Hamas in February this year.
