New college rabbi for Moriah

Sydney’s Moriah College has announced the appointment of Rabbi Gad Krebs as the college rabbi.

Since 2007, Rabbi Krebs has been the Senior Rabbi at Congregation Kehillat Masada in St Ives He also holds a Masters in Psychotherapy & Counselling and is an experienced Conflict Mediator and Executive Life Coach.

Rabbi Krebs’ association with Moriah dates back to his position as Informal Education Team Leader from 1998-2006. Since then, Rabbi Krebs has been involved in an impressive array of communal initiatives and projects, including regularly presenting workshops, on a variety of topics, to students and staff at the College.

Moriah’s President Stephen Jankelowitz and College Principal Rabbi Yehoshua Smukler Moriah said: “He is a person of deep insight and understanding, wisdom and knowledge, with the ability to transmit that knowledge to others. He is intimately aligned with the Modern Orthodox Zionist ethos of the College and is a true Mensh and role model for our students.

Rabbi Krebs is a youthful and energetic leader who makes Judaism relevant and engaging. He will be a critical partner in leading and enhancing Jewish Life & Learning across the College.”

Rabbi Krebs will commence in the role in late 2021/early 2022.
