Sydney north-side venue VJs kicks off its 2025 program with a stellar duo featuring world-renowned Simon Tedeschi and Mat Jodrell.
Simon Tedeschi and Mat Jodrell
Simon Tedeschi is well known to audiences around Australia and brings a strong classical sensibility to improvisation.
He is known for his wide and eclectic approach to repertoire from Rachmaninoff to Gershwin, Mozart to Mussorgsky, and has been hailed as one of the best artists in the world.
Trumpeter Mat Jodrell has been described as one of the most exciting voices in jazz today. Like Tedeschi, his versatility across a range of styles is legendary. He has recently returned to Australia after eight years in New York City, where he performed with the greatest American jazz luminaries and taught at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music.
Together, Tedeschi and Jodrell perform jazz music with a twist, exploring the contours of the blues and the immense depth of American music across the twentieth century. Don’t miss their debut performance at VJs. Refreshments are included in the ticket price.
