Israel’s Foreign Ministry reported that Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar “lashed out” at dozens of foreign ambassadors to Israel at the Holocaust Day ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry offices in Jerusalem on Monday.

“Today the world is faced with another evil regime: the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Sa’ar told the foreign ambassadors. “The Iranian regime openly calls for the destruction of Israel and is working to achieve its murderous goal. The international community did nothing special and took it as normal that one country threatens to destroy another.”

“The regime spreads terror and bloodshed in the Middle East and beyond,” he added. “It also operates in your countries: spreading terror and subversion, sometimes through its embassies. It recruits criminal gangs across Europe to attack Iranian dissidents, Jewish communities, and Israeli embassies. It arms and finances its terrorist state affiliates: Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. The regime exports radical Islam to other countries.”

Sa’ar went on to repudiate the “policy of appeasement” he implied that world nations were engaged in vis-à-vis Iran saying that it is” once again trumping moral courage. Running away from the challenge will not make it disappear. Just as burying your head in the sand, like an ostrich, will not remove the threat.”

The ceremony was attended by over 50 ambassadors and heads of missions from countries around the world.
