Gaza Crossings Closed Due to Iranian Attacks, But Aid Will Continue to Flow
Jerusalem, 8 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli agency COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories: Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip) reported that, following the missile attacks launched by Iran against the State of Israel, a number of necessary security measures have been implemented, including the closure of the crossings into the Gaza Strip, among them the Kerem Shalom Crossing and the Rafah Crossing, until further notice.
COGAT emphasised that the closure of the crossings will not affect the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The substantial quantities of food that have entered the Strip since the beginning of the ceasefire significantly exceed the nutritional needs of the population, according to UN methodologies.
The agency said it will continue to maintain ongoing contact with the international community and will provide updates on any developments in accordance with the security situation assessment.

Israel Launches Airstrikes on Iran Following Missile Attack
Jerusalem, 8 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel launched airstrikes against Iranian miiitary targets in western and central Iran, the israel Defense Forces said Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Home Front Command tightened nationwide restrictions after Iran resumed missile fire on Sunday night, marking the first attacks since the ceasefire took effect.
Under the new guidelines, which remain in effect until further notice, all educational activities, including matriculation exams, are suspended. Gatherings are limited to 200 people outdoors and 500 indoors, provided a protected space can be reached during an alert. Workplaces may continue operating only if employees have access to a standard protected area.
The restrictions were announced as Iran renewed missile launches following threats from Tehran to retaliate for Israel’s strikes on Hezbollah targets in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district.
No Damage After Iran Fires 10 Ballistic Missiles at Israel
Jerusalem, 7 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel remained on high alert Sunday night after Iran launched approximately 10 ballistic missiles at northern Israel in four separate barrages, triggering air raid sirens across the region and sending residents to protected areas.
According to the Israel Defence Forces, all of the missiles were either intercepted by air defence systems or landed in open areas. No direct hits, injuries, or property damage were reported.
“Air defenses are now working to shoot down the latest salvo launched from Iran,” the military said as sirens sounded across northern communities.
Following a security assessment, the Home Front Command eased some restrictions but urged continued caution nationwide. “It is possible to leave the protected area, but you should continue to stay in close proximity to protected areas throughout the country,” the IDF spokesperson said. “You are asked to continue to follow the Home Front Command’s instructions.”
The missile attacks also disrupted public events. A basketball game between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem in Tel Aviv was halted, with thousands of spectators evacuating the venue in accordance with Home Front Command directives.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for a forceful response to the attacks, writing on X, “Tonight, Tehran must burn.”
Meanwhile, the Transportation Ministry said Israel’s airspace remained open despite the ongoing missile threat.
Northern Israel Heads to Bomb Shelters as Iran Fires Missiles
Jerusalem, 7 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Iran launched two ballistic missiles toward northern Israel on Sunday, marking its first direct attack since a ceasefire took effect on April 8. The missiles were successfully intercepted by Israeli air defences, according to the Israel Defence Forces.
“Two ballistic missiles launched by Iran at northern Israel were successfully intercepted by air defenses a short while ago,” the military said.
Air raid sirens sounded in several waves across northern Israel, from the Hadera area to the Upper Galilee, sending residents to protected areas. The IDF said it was “working to intercept the missiles” as the attack unfolded.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The attack came after Iran threatened retaliation following Israeli strikes in Beirut’s Dahiya district. An Israeli official described the barrage as evidence that “the Iranian truce is over.”
In response to the security situation, the Home Front Command announced restrictions on civilian activities. Educational activities remain prohibited, while gatherings are limited to 200 people outdoors and 500 people indoors, provided participants can reach a standard protected area during an alert. Beaches have been closed to the public.
The restrictions will remain in effect until 8 p.m. Monday.
Meanwhile, firefighters searched several locations in the Golan Heights following reports of interceptor fragments falling after the missile barrage. A spokeswoman for the Israel Fire and Rescue Service’s Northern District said crews were investigating multiple sites.
Officials also clarified that a fire reported in Tiberias was a garbage fire and was not related to the attack.
