Two envelopes containing antisemitic material have been received by post at two separate addresses in Melbourne with connections to the Jewish Community.
One was sent to a Jewish communal group and the other to a prominent Jewish community member.
The envelopes contained a CD with the wording “The Aryans” on it, as well as a threatening note “Death of the Jews Secret Masterplan”.
The recipients of the envelopes contacted the Community Security Group (CSG) immediately. Both matters have been reported to Victoria Police for further investigation
JCCV President Jennifer Huppert said: “This type of incident is distressing both for the recipients and community at large.”
The CDs were played and contained antisemitic messages.
The JCCV urges community members to report any antisemitism to the Police on 000 and to the CSG via its 24-hour emergency number on 1300 000 274.
