I wish a meaningful and spiritually uplifting Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement to the NSW Jewish community.

Natalie Ward

Although this is the most solemn day of the year, it is suffused with the hope of spiritual renewal.

Traditionally, Yom Kippur is spent in prayer, fasting, self-reflection and the seeking of forgiveness.

I thank the community for following the rules to stay safe and honouring the measures that are helping to save lives by observing Yom Kippur in a COVID-safe way.

As your Minister for Multiculturalism, I am proud of the harmony of our diverse, multi-faith society and thank all members of the Jewish community for their support.

My best wishes to you all at this very special and holy time. G’mar tov – may you be inscribed in the book of life.
