John Waters will join the Australian cast of Fiddler on the Roof as Lazar Wolf when the acclaimed production opens at Sydney’s Theatre Royal on 31 July.
The role reunites Waters with Sigrid Thornton, his co-star in the 1983 television miniseries All the Rivers Run. Thornton will play Yente, with Troy Sussman as Tevye and Alexis Fishman as Golde.
Waters’ stage credits include The Sound of Music, Oliver!, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Rocky Horror Show and The Addams Family.
