In a letter to their members the Maccabi Hakoah Junior Soccer committee has told members that they have been directed to take a neutral stance by Maccabi NSW.

soccerpitch4000A spokesperson for Maccabi NSW told J-Wire that NSW soccer  regulations require a full-size soccer field for players aged over 12.
In a letter to members president of the MHJFC Ofer Greenberg writes:

Dear members,

Many of you will be aware of the discussions surrounding the White City site. Some of you may be Hakoah members.

The Junior Football Club has been mentioned by both the incumbent Board and the challengers with regard to the proposed football field.

Whilst the preference of the Football Club is naturally for a full size field and we do believe that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our football club and community, we recognise that the issues are more complex than this, and as per the direction of Maccabi NSW, have chosen to take a neutral stance on the matter. This has been done in order to allow Hakoah members to decide the future of the Club. Maccabi remains committed to working with Hakoah to bring the dream to fruition.

As both parties have chosen to use the Junior Football Club’s name, we can only hope that they will honour their commitment to us, and ensure that our members will have substantial access to the field, at an affordable rate during the football season.

Whilst the Club has taken this stance, individual members are free to decide for themselves. In particular, Hakoah members may feel free to decide on one group or the other, without reference to Maccabi NSW and the MHJFC’s neutral stance.

Regards,

Ofer Greenberg

MHJFC President on behalf of the MHJFC Committee

Well maybe the Junior Soccer Club has been directed to “stay neutral” on the subject, but clearly the Hakoah Club WHite City development needs to have a full-sized soccer field……OR NONE AT ALL. Anything less than a full-sized field is useless. a waste of space and money.
The Board has a plan to accommodate this field.
They’re soccer lovers. Unabashedly so am I. My sons played for Maccabi Hakoah, (one still does at 45). 2 of my grandsons currently also play for Maccabi . A full-sized soccer field will also be suitable for 4 Futsal fields. And countless other uses.
