Israel's Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has thanked the Trump administration for the decision to withdraw from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), saying the world body had “betrayed its mission of protecting human rights".
The resolution, which was proposed by Algeria and Turkey, was passed with 120 “yes” votes to eight “no” votes and 45 abstentions, condemned Israel for using "excessive force" against the Palestinians during the recent violence in the Gaza Strip.
