The 410 plus members of the Australian team at the 19th Maccabiah will once again honor the memories of the four team members who lost their lives as a result of the bridge collapse in 1997...and any Australians in Israel on the date are invited to attend.
The Australian team began their ill-fated march at the Opening Ceremony of the 1997 Maccabiah by crossing a bridge over the Yarkon River which collapsed causing the deaths of four Australian team members...now Maccabi Australia is inviting members of the 1997 contingent to complete the opening parade at this year's Games.
