Cricket saw intense competition.
Although many of the players had not worn their whites for several years, the game was played at an intense standard.
Many would have struggled to walk on Monday morning following their active day on the field.
Victoria won the match against NSW by 40 runs and  there was universal agreement that a return match would be played again next year in Melbourne.
Masters basketball was also very physical and competitive with teams in over 45 and  35 -45.
Victoria won by 10 points, however with only a few minutes to go the scores were locked in at 40 points each.
Many faces from years gone by donned their Maccabi jerseys for the first time in years.  Many continue to play socially and their competitive juices came to the fore with some playing like men possessed .
The reunion at Double Bay lawn bowling club, although smaller than last week’s in Melbourne, was extremely successful as a room full of Maccabi stalwarts gathered to reminisce about years gone by.
Memorabilia from decades ago was on display and fond stories & memories  were the flavour of the evening.
