Whether it’s helping the disadvantaged at home or abroad, Israel is setting an example.

Shattering myths about the country is exemplified by an officer in the IDF.

NOBODY SHOULD GO HUNGRY IN ISRAEL

It is a fact that people with very little disposable income usually suffer nutrition deprivation because they do not eat a balanced diet. Not eating correctly means more sickness, an inability to work and perpetuation of the cycle of poverty.

Israel’s national food bank, Leket Israel, has purchased a field near Binyamina with the aim of growing food for the poor. The 4 hectares is estimated to harvest about 500 tons of produce annually which means that 2,700 people can be fed on a daily basis.

Funding for this project was provided by Pastor George Annadorai, director of Shalom Israel Asia Pacific (SIAP), a Christian pro-Israel organisation based in Singapore.

“We are honored to stand alongside Leket Israel in bringing daily food to Israel’s needy. Thanks to Leket, there are thousands who go to bed at night with a full stomach, and that is why we were motivated to create an entire farm to grow produce exclusively for the poor,” said Annadorai.

FOOD AID TO SOUTH SUDAN

Israel’s humanitarian food aid reaches out to areas impoverished by famine and war. Six tons of food has been delivered to drought stricken villagers.

The food aid was distributed to village residents by government officials, representatives from Israeli humanitarian groups and Israel’s Ambassador to South Sudan Hanan Goder.

The aid was coordinated by the ministry’s Agency for International Development Cooperation and the Israeli embassy in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, the Foreign Ministry said.

Where do you find these news?

You can not find them in the Israeli media. They are busy with the demonstration against PM Netanyahu and Judge Naor.

    • Michael Kuttner says:

All these good news stories are reported by various Israeli media sources. The reason they never feature in your local media is because they are obsessed with repeating negative news.

That is why I am giving J-Wire readers a chance to learn about positive developments which they otherwise would not be aware of.

  2. Eion Isaac says:

There are organisations in Israel that help African refugees in Israel many who been tortured by Crime Gangs in the Sinai for ransom recover from trauma and give them the help demanded by the Jewish Law : Do not oppress the stranger for you were strangers in a foreign land .
