Summer has kicked in with a vengeance in Israel  and we have had a succession of sizzling weeks with record temperatures and humidity.

As usual there has also been plenty of negative news but believe it or not more positive and good news as well.

MORE FRIENDS VISIT:

Listening to critics of Israel one would imagine that the country is totally isolated. Basing this view on almost weekly condemnations from the UN and its corrupt associated bodies plus a continual stream of media denigrations would be completely wrong.

In recent times Israel has hosted leaders of a vast array of nations and the PM and President have also made visits to an impressive number. Following on the extremely successful visit of the Indian PM our next visitor was the President of Rwanda. African nations among others are clamouring to benefit from Israel’s expertise in many fields and it is this which is driving an unprecedented number to close relations with the Jewish State.

Some people worry that we still get condemned in world forums. Quite frankly the irrelevance of these corrupt organizations is becoming more obvious as we forge ever friendlier relations with countries hitherto hostile or unfriendly. How times have changed.

BON JOUR – SHALOM:

200 French Jews arrived in Israel this week aboard the largest aliyah flight scheduled to land from Europe this summer. The French Jewish Community is the largest in Europe numbering nearly half a million.

The group of olim that arrived Monday includes 74 children and teenagers under the age of 18. The youngest immigrant is two-and-a-half months old, immigrating with her parents and sibling, and the oldest is a 92-year-old widower, who made aliya with his daughter and her husband.

The influx of immigrants from France is already noticeable as one hears French spoken more now than Russian. We look forward to many more coming home to Israel and contributing to all aspects of life here.

BEN GURION AIRPORT IS #8 IN THE WORLD:

According to Travel + Leisure magazine our airport has been voted the eighth best in the world. Readers were asked to share their views on their experiences covering access, check in, security, food, shopping and design.

With 2016 having been the airport’s busiest with close to 18 million travelers passing through its terminals, this year is shaping up to beat that figure. Tourism is booming and that is wonderful for the economy.

WHAT TO BRING BACK FROM ISRAEL:

If you are visiting Israel any time soon here is a short video which may help you to decide what to bring back.
