MONITORING CANCER TREATMENT
Israel’s Sheba Medical Center has announced a new cooperation with Telesofia Medical, an Israeli-founded New York-based startup focused on interactive patient educational videos, for a new personalized telemedicine program that will help cancer patients and oncologists with at-home monitoring and treatment between visits.
This will enable cancer patients to quickly reach their doctors and get personalized feedback via video within the comfort of their own homes.
The program will allow patients to report progress and side effects in real-time to their oncologists, after which tailor-made videos based on doctor instructions will then appear on their phones.
“The technology has the potential to increase patient empowerment, reduce unnecessary medical complications and increase treatment efficiency,” the medical centre said in a statement.
AID TO BAHAMAS ON THE WAY
As usual, Israel is one of the first countries to respond to natural disasters anywhere in the world.
The Israeli NGO, IsraAID announced that it will send an emergency response team to distribute urgent relief supplies, offer psychological first aid, and deploy water filters to restore access to drinking water. The team also will conduct further needs assessments in affected communities in the Bahamas.
IsraAID reports that in 2018, its emergency response teams reached 26,300 people with safe water, psychological and community support, and relief following nine disasters in seven countries.
