This week the US House of Representatives passed a resolution affirming Israel’s right to exist.
Think about this for a moment.
Of all the approximately 195 countries in the world today, only Israel has its legitimacy constantly challenged. Jewish sovereignty was established three thousand years ago yet today large swathes of the world community still questions whether Jews have the right to their homeland.
When the Hebrew prophets, judges and monarchs ruled, most of the rest of the world was still mired in pagan practices. Many of those who today deny Israel’s legitimacy were still to be discovered. Answering his detractors in the House of Commons, Benjamin Disraeli famously stated: I am a Jew, and when the ancestors of the Right Honourable Gentleman were brutal savages in an unknown island, mine were priests in the Temple of Solomon.”
Yet, in 2023, the American Congress feels compelled to pass a resolution affirming the Jewish State’s right to actually exist.
There is something seriously rotten existing in the world today.
