The whole country is in the midst of Chanukah celebrations banishing temporarily at least the spectre of corona mutations.

Unfortunately, many intending visitors from overseas have been prevented from arriving as the country warily monitors the progress of this new variant.

As we prepare for winter to finally make its appearance our scientists and innovators are hard at work devising new ways to keep us safe and at the forefront of world-beating achievements.

In a recent survey, Tel Aviv has now emerged as the most expensive city in the world. While this is not exactly something to cheer about it does illustrate the amazing strength of the shekel which is currently one of the world’s strongest currencies. Who could have imagined that 73 years ago?

A true Chanukah miracle indeed.


These days most things seem to be made in China. In another one of those “only in Israel” miracles and just in time for Chanukah, dreidels with Chinese (Mandarin) lettering have been “made in Israel” and sent to the small remnant of Jews living in Kaifeng.

Chanukah reminds us of how the efforts by the Syrian Greeks to suppress Judaism were thwarted by a small band of Jews determined to assert their right to worship and follow in the footsteps of their ancestors.

Today in China, Judaism is unrecognized as an official Faith and its open practice is effectively banned. History keeps repeating itself.



 Further proof of the Jewish presence in this Land has been uncovered in Yavne.

Perhaps Israel should organize a tour for all UN members and associated deniers, of archaeological discoveries which prove that we are indeed the legal occupiers.

Those who try to rewrite history should be shamed and named at every opportunity.




It was prophesized by Isaiah that “the Law will go out from Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”

Little did our Hebrew Prophet ever foresee that in the year 5782 from out of Zion shall go forth a myriad and record variety of sufganiyot (doughnuts).
