The father of the Rabbi brutally murdered in the attack on Mumbai’s Chabad House has publicly thanked the Sydney community for its support.Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg was slain with his wife Rivkah when terrorists stormed the Chabad centre last November.

His father Rabbi Nachman Holtzberg addressed over 1500 supporters of the Sydney Yeshiva Centre at the Gala dinner held last night, thanking them for “your great love to me and my family.”

A campaign to rebuild the centre is well underway along with plans to secure the future of the Holtzbergs’  2-yr-old orphaned son, Moshe.

Federal Opposition leader, Malcolm Turnbull told Rabbi Holtzberg in his speech that “the best way to remember your son and daughter-in-law is pratice and promote Yiddishkeit.”

Entertainment was provided by child prodigy pianist, 7-year-old Ethan Bortnick and singer 13-year-old Troy Sivan.
