Miller heads to Israel
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies president Yair Miller will represent Australia at the first Global Israel Diaspora summit being held by the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Jerusalem next week.
The Global Israel-Diaspora Summit will bring together about 150 young Jewish leaders from around the world for lectures, trips, Israel site visits and discussions on the most pressing issues facing Israel today, including relations with the Arab world, the Israel boycott, divestment and sanction movement (BDS), Israel – Diaspora relations, identity and assimilation.
The program primarily comprises graduates of the MFA Diplomatic Seminar for Young Jewish Leaders. Miller has been invited to present at a panel on Israel-Diaspora relations with Dov H Maimon, Senior Fellow at the Jewish People Policy Institute.
“I am honoured to be representing Australia and working with some of the most influential and creative young leaders gathered from throughout the Jewish world,” he said. “The forum is a unique opportunity for current and future world Jewish leadership to challenge each other, understand each other and work together for a common purpose for our people.”
Miller is a vice-president of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry..
