Morry Frenkel speaks with Josh Burns, Labor’s Federal Member for Macnamara, about the recommendations of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights’ recently tabled report of the Inquiry into Antisemitism in Australian Universities.

Josh, who was chair of the committee, discusses the need for universities to quickly take on board those recommendations directed at them, as the academic year has already commenced. He also talks about the universities’ definition of antisemitism, a slight variation of that drawn up by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) and the establishment of on-campus ‘safe rooms’ for Jewish students. Finally, Josh discusses the inability of The Greens to speak out against antisemitism in Australia.
