The Jewish Communal Appeal (JCA) is the Platinum Charity Partner of this year’s event, which will see more than 90,000 participants run or walk from the Sydney CBD to Bondi on Sunday, 9 August 2026.
The organisation said crossing the finish line at Bondi would carry particular significance following the December 14 terrorist attack.
Participants will honour those who were killed, those who were injured, the families whose lives were changed and others affected by the attack.
JCA CEO Alain Hasson said the event would be an important moment of unity for both the Jewish community and Sydney.
“There could not be a more meaningful place for our community to finish this year’s City2Surf than Bondi,” Hasson said.
“Together with 90,000 Australians, we will run in remembrance of those we lost, in honour of everyone whose lives were forever changed on December 14, and in support of our community’s ongoing recovery.
“Every step we take together is a reminder that we stand united, that we are stronger together, and that hope will always overcome hate.
“Through Team JCA, every dollar raised will strengthen the organisations that care for, protect and support our community today, while helping ensure they can continue to respond to the challenges of tomorrow.”
After the race, runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters are invited to gather at the JCA marquee in the Charity Village at Archer Park.
The gathering will provide an opportunity for the community to celebrate, reflect and connect after the event.
General registrations for the City2Surf have sold out, but a limited number of JCA Charity Superstar entries remain available.
Participants who commit to raising at least $1,000 for JCA will be able to secure a place in the race.
JCA said the charity entries were now the only remaining way to enter the sold-out event while raising funds for Jewish community organisations.
