Sydney’s Jewish community and friends will gather this Sunday evening, 14 June, to mark six months since the devastating tragedy that shook the local area and the nation.

The service will remember the 15 people murdered in the terrorist attack during a Chanukah celebration at Bondi Beach on December 15, 2025, while also honouring the survivors, grieving families and wider community still living with its impact.

The memorial service invites people of all faiths and backgrounds to stand together in mourning, healing and solidarity.

Organised by Rabbi Yossi Friedman, the gathering continues the community services organised by Rabbi Friedman that began as daily vigils during the initial shloshim mourning period before becoming monthly gatherings.

Attendees are asked to register for security purposes by booking their attendance through the ticketing link, where specific event details will be provided after registration.

Rabbi Friedman said the gathering would provide an important space for the community to support one another on the half-year milestone.

“It is about the importance of memory, the importance of not forgetting and honouring those that we’ve lost, honouring the survivors and honouring our community, our allies and the broader community. We’ve all been impacted. And it’s important that we remain strong and remain together to move forward in healing.”

The program will include inclusive prayers, short reflections, music, witness testimony and a firsthand recount from a survivor, and moments of silence and remembrance.

Attendees are asked to bring their own memorial candles to light during the service.

The event is open to all, regardless of faith or background, and is intended to offer a respectful space for the community to come together in remembrance, compassion and unity.

The exact beachside location is yet to be announced and will be provided to attendees following registration.
