Israel’s ambassador to New Zealand Ran Yaakoby and his family were officially welcomed in a historic Powhiri at Te Tii Marae.

A New Zealand welcome for Ambassador Yaakoby

They planted an olive tree and kauri tree in a special ceremony symbolizing the strong friendship shared between the people of Ngāpuhi and Israel.

The embassy thank Kaumatua Pat Ruka and Janice Epiha, together with all those involved for their incredible hospitality and for making this such a special event.
