Australia, NZ & worldwide Jewish news that matters

Ugly caricature posted by leading Australian designer

Richard De Chazal has posted an image on his Facebook stating that there are laws to stop hating “you” supported by a caricature of a Jew accompanied by the words “Give back Palestine”.

NSW Jewish Board of Deputies CEO Vic Alhadeff condemned the post: “The cartoon and accompanying text are vile and bigoted. As for the law in question, no law can effectively stop people hating you; however, the law can and should stop people inciting violence against you.
“We thank the State Government for introducing this vital piece of legislation to ensure the safety of the people of NSW, and we applaud the state parliament for passing it unanimously.”
Alhadeff is referring to the laws passed in NSW making it a personable offence to make public threats or incitements to violence made on the basis of race, religion or sexuality.
De Chazal is described on his web page as “one of Australia’s most respected haute-couture designers, make-up artists, stylists and photographer. A member of the Australian design hall of fame and winner of numerous photographic, design and art awards.
J-Wire believes the image was shared from another Facebook page. Facebook has been alerted.

  1. He is not a ‘leading Australian designer’, so you give him status he doesn’t have.
He is just a hater of many things.
I wasted 5 minutes looking at his Fb site.. He’s just another nutter.
    Best left by the road.

    • well mate you have not looked too hard . Richards designs and makeup and styling has been on the leading edge for years . He was ahead of his time more than 20 years ago when I was photographing so opps …

  2. De Chazal has made it obviously clear that he hates Jews. That certainly is his prerogative.

That is an advance on those hypocrites who share similar views but profess to deny such hatred.

Get it out in the open.

Give back Palestine to the Jews as the League of Nations declared way back in 1922. Respect this important declaration in international law when the international community unanimously determined there was no indigenous Palestinian people, that the Arabs then living there were part of the “non-Jewish community”

Wonder if de Chazal has ever taken the time to ever look at these indisputable facts.

  3. De Chazal is described on his web page as “one of Australia’s most respected… make-up artists…”

Make-up is right. There never was a state of Palestine; it is made up by Jew haters.

Since “Palestine” is made up it i.e. it is a mere reification, returning it is impossible. But then again, logic, history, archaeology, documents and decency have never altered the beliefs of a bigot whose mind is made up and facts won’t change it.
