Sydney’s Moriah College hit the road yesterday attempting to visit as many homes possible which are temporary “classrooms’ for students in isolation with their family.

The Yom Ha’atzmaut fleet

Families waved Israeli flags as they stood outside their homes joining in as circumstances allowed the celebrations of Israel’s 72 nd birthday. A large fleet of vehicles headed out to drive around the Eastern Suburbs visiting streets on which students live.

On Facebook, the school posted: “Our hearts are singing and bursting with pride and community spirit!
We were overjoyed to see so many Moriah and wider community members dancing, cheering, waving and celebrating with us as we took our Yom Ha’atzmaut drive-past parade to as many homes as possible, during lunchtime yesterday.
It was truly the most incredible community ruach and those who we couldn’t get to in person, were following along on our live-stream.
We are beyond grateful to everyone who made this possible, including our incredible Jewish Life staff members and madrichim. Thank you to Yigal and JNF Australia for joining us and providing the fabulous party packs and to United Israel Appeal Australia for the awesome Israeli playlists!”
