This year, the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (IJL) will, in partnership with The Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme mark the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust  by sponsoring an online event entitled “The Nazi Rise to Power and the Weimar Constitution.”

The IJL chose to highlight this subject as a professional organization uniquely devoted to combatting antisemitism and Holocaust denial through legal means. This event will explore the historic and legal aspects of how the Nazi Party rose to power and how Hitler was elected.

The live webcast will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021, 5pm Israel time – 11:00pm Thursday, Perth time and 2:00am Friday AEDT

“It is the duty of all human beings to remember and not forget – not only the horrors, but also the fact that the law has many facets, and that a distorted use of the law, or actions conducted under its auspices, may nurture, even in the 21st  century, hate platforms potentially breeding an antisemitic agenda.”
