Tel Aviv – Yafo Municipal Councillors visit NSW Parliament
NSW Labor Parliamentarians have hosted a visit to State Parliament by a delegation of senior Tel Aviv City councillors.

The visiting Israeli delegation comprised Mr. Shmuel Mizrahi – Member of the City Council and Member of Histadrut leadership (Labor); Mr. Shlomo Maslawi – Member of the City Council and Chairperson of the Immigration and Absorption Committee (Likud); Ms Shula Agami – City Concil and directorate member and Chairperson of the single parent families committee (Kadima); and Ms. Rachel Suliman – Bureau Director to Mr. Mizrahi.
The three-member councillor delegation comprised Labor, Likud and Kadima representatives. They are in Australia on a eight day visit and had already visited Melbourne.
NSW Parliamentary Friends of Israel deputy chair, Mr Walt Secord, who is also Shadow Minister for Water was joined by Shadow Local Government spokesperson Sophie Cotsis, Labor MP Greg Donnelly and Labor MP and former Legislative Council president Mr Peter Primrose met with them during a break in parliamentary proceedings.
NSW Legislative Council Labor leader, Mr Luke Foley also meet the Tel Aviv Councillors with Mr Secord in a separate meeting.
Mr Secord and Mr Foley talked about the recent NSW Jewish Board of Deputies-assisted Parliamentary Study Tour to Israel and officially welcomed the delegation to Sydney.
Mr Primrose and Mr Donnelly explained the various tiers of government in Australia and their responsibilities and Ms Cotsis spoke about local government in NSW.
The Israeli delegation is also meeting with the Sydney City Council and the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies.

Don’t you think we have the same issue here. All Councils are into it. I know a woman who spends her life questioning Waverly Council on their overseas ‘studies’
It’s terrible to see how Israeli taxes are being wasted on such junkets!
