A “Jews for Refugees” banner  is expected to spearhead a sizeable number of Sydney’s Jewish community at this Sunday’s Stand Up For Refugees rally.

The Music for Refugees organisation is encouraging Sydney Jews to take a stand by joining in the rally.

The organisation has supplied asylum seekers and refugees with music instruments donated by members of the Jewish community for seven years.

CEO Philip Feinstein told J-Wire: “Music for Refugees has encouraged all groups of people to donate instruments over the years to Villawood and other detention centres. Despite many of those instruments going to Muslims and people of other religions, there was no holding back with Jewish donors.”

A large number of Jewish people is expected to walk behind the banner Jews for Refugees at the rally ‘Stand Up For Refugees’ on this Sunday. “After all, many of us come from a refugee background” said Feinstein.
The rally commences at Sydney Town Hall at 1:45pm and all Jews are invited to participate.
