The Council of Orthodox Synagogues of Victoria has announced the appointment of new directors to its board.

Mandi Elias

Entrepreneur and professional social marketer, Mandi Elias, who is the current Vice-President of Elwood Shule, will be joining the board and will provide ongoing support in the Communication and Social Media portfolio. Mandi will be joining Mark L Cohen as the newly appointed president, Michael Granek as treasurer as well as having the support of Ezra May, Harvey Bruce, Sam Blum and Elka Gaensler and Robby Wyner as directors.

At a time when Victorian synagogues are currently following the guidelines set out by the Australian Government to cease all services, the COSV is also setting plans to improve contact with its members. The wider community can expect improved communications with the addition of Mandi Elias to the board and her experience in this area. The COSV’s administration support will be progressing with the advancement of technology to be able to reach the majority of the Melbourne Jewish community and its younger generation.

The COSV wishes the entire community a Chag Pesach Kasher VeSameach; this year may be a little different, however, this won’t last forever and we welcome the day when our shules open their doors again.
