Maccabi VIC recognises that the cost of payment of Sport registration fees could be impacted by the financial strain that COVID-19 experienced by some families.

The Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation recently launched the “Maccabi Hardship Relief Fund” set up to support the entire Victorian Maccabi community and any player wanting to join our organisation.

A spokesperson said: “We are all too aware of the is having on some families in our community and its impact on their capacity to afford certain things which previously were attainable.”

With the expected restart of community sport, Maccabi is “Coming Back SAFE, PROUD & TOGETHER.”

A substantial fund has been established to support those in our community facing financial hardship due to COVID-19, and to provide assistance to enable all family members to join a Maccabi VIC club or Maccabi VIC program, ensuring we all “COME BACK TOGETHER!”

Dale Smorgon -Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation Chair said: “We are committed to ensuring that no Jewish child be denied an opportunity to play sport with other Jewish children because of financial hardship – this is a time in history where our community needs to wrap its arms around each other and provide all the support and assistance necessary and available to ensure we come through this crisis stronger, healthier and even more united.”
