The 85-year-old justice had been working at home for the first time in her 25 years on the nation’s highest court. In two months of recovery, she only missed six days of arguments and three private conferences.

The cancerous nodules were discovered incidentally during tests performed at George Washington University Hospital to diagnose and treat rib fractures sustained in a fall at her office on Nov. 7,  2018, according to a statement from the court last December.
