At lunchtime yesterday, NSW’s JCA campaign hit the $4.5m mark.

JCA team on the campaign trail

CEO Alain Hasson said, “This motivates our team and keeps us doing what we do.  A big thank you to everyone who has recently contributed – you inspire us and make such a difference to the community.”

This year’s campaign has seen a different approach with JCA shining a light on the different sectors they fund in weekly bursts. Last week focussed on the Education sector with students in the Jewish Day Schools engaged with a range of activities that educate about what the organisations do in the community and its 25 supported organisations.

For the next five days, the JCA focus will concentrate on Engagement, Culture and Outreach.  Over seven organisations provide programs to the community in this sector, including Maccabi NSW, Shalom, B’nai B’rith, National Council of Jewish Women NSW, Stand Up and the ACT Jewish Community in Canberra.

While the focus this week is on Engagement and outreach, members of the community and organisations have shared stories that showcase the breadth of meaningful support.  These stories can be viewed on the JCA website here.

Another marked difference due to the global pandemic has been to err on the side of caution with JCA hosting smaller events in private homes.  This has seen a more bespoke and person-centric approach to their fundraising and engagement process.

“Our vision is to have a world-class Jewish community that is thriving and inclusive always,” said Alain Hasson, CEO of JCA.  “Our community is already remarkable, but we are committed to making it even more so so that our children and their children can continue to flourish.”

He reiterated that with this campaign, “every dollar counts” and no matter the quantum, support from community members will help achieve this year’s $15M goal.
