ECAJ: Employment opportunity – Media Advisor

The Executive Council of Australian Jewry, the national representative body of the Australian Jewish community, is hiring.

We are seeking to appoint a Media Advisor, who will work directly with the ECAJ Co-Chief Executive Officers, assisting with the ECAJ’s advocacy and media outreach.

The key functions of the role are to:

  • Create and implement a media and social media strategy that advances ECAJ’s strategic objectives and contributes to achieving the organisation’s vision
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the media and social media strategy to ensure its ongoing success
  • Support ECAJ events, projects and programs through proactive media and social media campaigns
  • Increase community awareness of the ECAJ, including its organisational aims and objectives and successful outcomes
  • Manage the development and production of strategic and external communications materials, including newsletters and community and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Management of social media channels (e.g. Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media and other relevant contacts

  • Driven and motivated self-starter
  • Strong team ethic
  • High attention to detail and quality

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in relevant roles
  • Tertiary qualifications – Bachelor level or higher
  • Strong familiarity with the Australian media landscape
  • Knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing the Jewish community in Australia and globally
  • Knowledgeable about current affairs and Jewish communal issues
