‘Cruel, Inhuman’: UN Human Rights chief slams Hamas’s display of coffins
The United Nation’s top human rights official denounced Hamas for displaying the coffins of four Israeli hostages before their handover to the Red Cross on Thursday.

“Under international law, any handover of the remains of deceased must comply with the prohibition of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, ensuring respect for the dignity of the deceased and their families,” UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said in a statement.
Hamas says it handed over the bodies of Shira Bibas, her sons Ariel and Kfir, and Oded Lifshitz today. Deferring to the families, Israel is not confirming the names until the bodies are positively identified.
