New South Wales and Queensland have experienced some of the worst flooding in recent memory.

Both states have recorded more than a year’s worth of rain over the past fortnight alone, dozens of lives have been tragically cut short, and tens of thousands of homes and businesses are without power, damaged or destroyed. People and families have been evacuated, and don’t know when they will be able to return.

In response to the catastrophic floods that have caused untold havoc to the people of NSW and Queensland, the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and B’nai B’rith Australia are appealing to the Jewish community to donate whatever they can to help those in need.

Donations over $2 are fully tax deductible and all proceeds will go to the Australian Lions Foundation – Emergency Disaster Appeal to provide emergency support to those in flood-affected areas. To donate, click here.

When flood waters rise, we rise up as a community with acts of tikkun olam, and we urge you to dig deep during this unprecedented time.

CEO of The New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies Darren Bark said: “We are proud to partner with B’nai B’rith, one of the JBD’s constituent organisations, on this worthy cause and we look forward to working together with more community organisations in times of need.”
