Anti-Semitic teachings in New Zealand have been revealed in a shocking new video featuring Shaykh Dr Mohammad Anwar Sahib.

The lectures and sermons were given between April and November 2016 and shows repeated use of antisemitic slanders and libels, including the denigration of women.

One of his sermons claims: “Jews are using everybody because their protocol is the rule the world.”

Dr Sahib is currently the President of the At Taqwa Mosque in Manukau, Auckland, and is also secretary of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ)  Ulama Council and FIANZ Advisory Board.

The FIANZ Ulama Council is responsible for religious affairs in the New Zealand Muslim community, and offers family counseling and dispute resolution. Dr Sahib is also an adviser to the New Zealand Government on Halal issues.

Dr Sahib’s views on women’s rights are not aligned to New Zealand or 21st century values. In one sermon he says: “No woman can dare step out of her house without the permission of her husband.”

Fiji-born Dr Sahib was trained in Saudi Arabia, and received a PhD in Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Studies from Madinah University.

His engagement in antisemitic activities stems back several years at an Australian conference, which openly invited other like-minded speakers who spread antisemitic hatred, shared by fellows including Al-Azhar Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Al-Sudias:

“Read history and you will understand that the Jews of yesterday are the evil fathers of the Jews of today, who are evil offspring, infidels….the scum of the human race whom Allah cursed and turned into apes and pigs….These are the Jews, an ongoing continuum of deceit, obstinacy, licentiousness, evil, and corruption……”

The Human Rights Commission says  there is “no place in New Zealand” for speeches that condemn Jewish people:

“We live in one of the most ethnically diverse nations on earth as well as one of the most peaceful: This is because we are a tolerant nation.” Says Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy.

“This kind of intolerance is not welcome here in any form: Prejudice against Jewish people has no place in New Zealand.

“We urge Kiwis to recognize that these are the views of a single person and are not held by every single Muslim New Zealander, however questions need to be answered,” said Dame Susan.

The Human Rights Commission has asked for an urgent response from Federation of the Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ), and have also reached out to the leaders of the NZ Jewish Council.

President of the NZ Jewish Council, Stephen Goodman says: “That a senior member of FIANZ, an organization we have worked with over many years, is openly and repeatedly preaching such sentiments is deeply concerning/ There is no place for this sort of hate-based rhetoric in New Zealand civil society.”

Does New Zealand have racial discriminations laws like ours, including section 18c? If yes, bloody well use them. Hoping they don’t have politicians who would consider them as preventing free speech.
