The price of chometz

Liberal candidate for the Sydney seat of Wentworth Dave Sharma has put a $200 deposit on a box of chometz.

Dave Sharma, Rabbi Eli Schlanger, Berel Feldman and Rabbi Yehoram Ulman

As chometz does not figure in the Budget, the aspiring politician will be able to return the box to Rabbi Yehoram Ulman at the end of Passover and get a full refund.

Dave Sharma told J-Wire: “If elected, I promise to make the chometz purchase an annual Pesach tradition”

It is a Jewish practice to sell off food which does not the criteria for Passover.
