The Melbourne Beth Din invites confidential Victorian community feedback about its Gittin (Halachic divorce) process through Project-Gett Dignity.

MBD and COSV Board member, Elka Gaensler said, “The feedback is vital for improving our processes. Although Unchain My Heart is already an important partner, we acknowledge the way Gittin are handled can be complex and must be sensitive to peoples’ needs during a difficult time in their lives.

The Dayanim (MBD Rabbis) and Registrar, together with the MBD Board wish to ensure the procedures and communications that are employed are delivered fairly, sensitive and with timely outcomes.

We would like to hear from people who have been or are going through the process of obtaining a Gett, their family members and friends and/or communal rabbis who have been advising their members about Gittin,” said Gaensler. “Every community response will be dealt with complete confidentiality and respect for individuals’ privacy.”

The MBD and MBD Board has already sought feedback on another sensitive topic, conversions and are improving processes as a result of community feedback.

Those wishing to take part in the MBD’s Gittin Review should go to the link http://www.mbd.net.au/ which will take them to the MBD website. They can click on the Tab-Gett Review. This will take them to the Survey link, for which they will be anonymous.

The MBD Board includes members of the Council of Orthodox Synagogues of Victoria and members of the Rabbinical Council of Victoria.
