UIA WA 2020 Campaign and Centenary Celebration
UIA WA’s 2020 Campaign will be taken to the next level as it celebrates the milestone of Keren Hayesod-UIA’s 100 years of supporting the People of Israel.
Tzipi Livni
With the unique position that Keren Hayesod-UIA holds for both the People of Israel and the local Jewish Community, UIA says it is an absolute privilege to host Tzipi Livni as its headline speaker this year to celebrate with them in Perth.
The 2020 Campaign’s opening General Division Gala Dinner will take place on Tuesday 25 February which will officially launch our centenary celebrations, with exciting live entertainment to be provided by renowned Israeli singer-songwriter and musician, Idan Raichel.
Livni is an Israeli politician, diplomat and lawyer. Widely considered the most powerful woman in Israel since Golda Meir, Livni has served in eight different cabinet positions throughout her career, setting the record for most government roles held by an Israeli woman.
A former member of the Knesset and leader in the centre-left political camp, she is a former Foreign Minister of Israel, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Justice and Leader of the Opposition.
Livni is known for her efforts to resolve the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, becoming one of Israel’s leading voices in support of a two-state solution.
Idan Raichel
Raichel is considered to be one of the most prominent and successful musical artists In Israel, and among the most well-known Israeli artists abroad.
UIA WA President Todd Wilner said: “In this 100th year of Keren Hayesod-UIA we are very excited to be holding our Gala event befitting this remarkable milestone. As our guests, we will have the most powerful woman in Israeli politics since Golda Meir, Tzipi Livni, Israel’s foremost singer-songwriter Idan Raichel and to make the evening a real celebration – a special video address to Perth from the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin. To host a world-class line up we need a world-class venue, so we are thrilled to be holding our event at the globally-awarded Optus Stadium. The stadium will be alight like a blue and white beacon, a true symbol of support for the State of Israel – home of the Jewish People, as we celebrate Keren Hayesod-UIA’s centenary. It truly will be a night to remember.”
UIA will also be holding its Women’s Division event on Sunday 22 March, with details to be released shortly.
