The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Sydney, the Australian Society of Polish Jews and their Descendants and the Society of Polish Culture in Victoria have hosted an exhibition entitled “They risked their lives- Poles who saved Jews during the Holocaust”,

Opening the exhibition

The exhibition is being held at Backyard Opera Gallery, 880 Princes Hwy, Tempe, Sydney.

Rabbi Dr Dovid Slavin, a descendant of the Polish Jew family addressed the opening which was performed by Consul General of RP, The Hon David Clarke, The Hon Robert Borsak, Rabbi Dr Dovid Slavin, Fr Kamil Żyłczyński and Andrew Rajcher – to jointly cut the ribbon to officially open the Exhibition

One candle was lit in memory of the rescuers and the rescued : Jews saved by Poles and the Polish Righteous, those who survived the War and have passed away since and those who perished while trying to rescue or help Jews during the War

Remembrance prayers were recited by Rabbi Dr Dovid Slavin and Fr Kamil Żyłczyński.

The exhibition will be viewable from 17- 20 August, (weekdays 8.00am – 3.00pm / weekends 8.00am – 2.00pm).
