A tractor, an angel, a robot, native Americans, a coronavirus cleanser, a rubber ball and others were among the festive and fun costumes worn by the fourth-graders of Henrietta Szold school in Jerusalem who visited the President Rivlin’s residence Beit HaNasi.

The students brought mishloach manot gifts to President Reuven (Ruvi) Rivlin for the Purim holiday. Following the Ministry of Health’s instructions not to shake hands, the children offered to bump feet with the president. “A wonderful idea,” said the president, and made sure to bump feet with every child, who were already excited in their costumes.

“But none of you dressed up as the president? Perhaps one of you came as the Speaker of the Knesset? Or as a party leader,” the president asked the children and was answered in the negative. They showed him their original and creative costumes and Yael, the teacher, thanked the president for welcoming them and wished everyone a happy Purim on behalf of the school. “Chag Purim Sameach – happy Purim – to all Israelis,” replied the president. “Nothing will stop us celebrating and enjoying ourselves.”
