December 9 will be a big day for swimmers in Perth and Sydney as teams take to the water to participate in a 12-hour swimathon to raise funds for MS research and next year’s Australian Maccabiah team.

Boys enjoy the Melbourne event

Having already run a successful event in Melbourne last month at Bialik College, Maccabi will use the pool at Moriah College for the Sydney event.

Over 130 swimmers participated in the event in Melboure.

One of the event’s organisers Peter Bloom told J-Wire: “Our target is $70,000 and we had raised $62,000 after the Melbourne event so we should be well up on last year.”
